How to show records vertically in mysql command line?

Solution

I think you are using `\g` instead of `\G`. Unless you use `\G` you get default output pattern. Default is `\g`.

mysql> show databases\g
+--------------------+
| Database           |
+--------------------+
| information_schema |
| mysql              |
| test               |
+--------------------+
3 rows in set (0.00 sec)

mysql> show databases\G
*************************** 1. row ***************************
Database: information_schema
*************************** 2. row ***************************
Database: mysql

Problem

First explaining what is on my mind {I'm not good at English} On Alan Storm's blog, I found a tricky thing about mysql. I am not sure if he's using the command line or not. The comment section has closed over there, so I'm putting this query here instead. ``` mysql> select * from eav_entity_type\G ``` When I run this statement in my command line (Window dos based cmd) I just return normal select statement results. Please let me know how could I get result as shown in that blog or if it is just part of a code beautifier.
